You may have read that listening to music while you work can improve productivity and the work you produce. But sometimes you might want to change it up a bit and learn a little something while you're at it. Listening to quality podcasts about the industry you work in can provide tips, techniques or insight that will help you in day-to-day business or when a tricky situation raises its head.
At Studiobanks, several of us listen to technology or web-themed podcasts on a weekly basis. Some are geared to the business side of the interactive industry while others focus on design and others on development, while some span all three sectors and beyond. Here's what some of us are listening to:
37signals Podcast Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson of 37signals discuss business, design, experience, simplicity and more.
The Rissington Podcast All-around smashing Brits, Jon Hicks and John Oxton, answer questions about the web, design and anything else put to them by their listeners. While it hasn't been updated in over a year, the existing episodes are well-worth a listen.
The Dev Show Dan Benjamin and Jason Seifer are two developers who uncover new resources in tech news, desktop/web development, databases and mobile software.
The Pipeline An interview show featuring in-depth conversations with designers, developers, entrepreneurs and more. Hosted by Dan Benjamin.
The Big Web Show A podcast featuring guests and topics on publishing, art direction, content strategy, typography, web technology and more. Hosted by Dan Benjamin and Jefferey Zeldman.
Boagworld Paul Boag and Marcus Lillington host this show for those involved in designing, developing or running a website on a daily basis.
Check these and let us know what podcasts you're tuning into. We'd love to queue up some more in iTunes and help spread the word.
