So all of sudden it’s November. Pumpkins are old and busted and the new hotness is Christmas (or the December holiday of your choice). Now that your Facebook feed is just about clear of your friends’ Halloween costumes, here comes Studiobanks with some Halloween nostalgia.
In case you missed it when it blew up on the Twitterverse last week, we made an epic pumpkin keg at the 2011 Guts pumpkin carving contest. How’d we do it? We’re not entirely sure since the “keg" leaked all over the floor on the one trial run we did half an hour before carving began. In fact, we were still buying pumpkins 15 minutes before the event started. This much we do know: we managed to balance five pumpkins on top of each other, carve them to look vaguely like barrels, and jury-rig a beer delivery system using PVC pipe and a bike pump. Also, it totally worked! The pumpkin beer flowed freely and often, quenching the thirst of weary carvers and spectators who had long since run out of drink tickets.
