With four million customers, Duke Energy is dedicated to making people’s lives better by providing gas and electric services that are sustainable, affordable, reliable and clean. The firm constantly looks for ways to improve, to grow and to reduce their impact on the environment, and it was this search that led them to Studiobanks. Duke Energy wanted to educate consumers about the various factors and decision-making involved in meeting the energy demands of 2050 while reducing Duke Energy’s carbon footprint.
Studiobanks helped shed some light on the subject by creating a fun, engaging online game that challenges players to create an energy generation mix that meets the future energy demand while minimizing CO2 emissions and keeping costs as low as possible. The game takes place in an active community where users can build new power plants, solar and wind farms, upgrade or retrofit current power plants, close current power plants, and implement new energy efficiency programs. This exciting, educational game helps players understand what it takes to prepare for the energy demands of 2050 in a carbon constrained world.
